The throughput was solid enough (200 mbit or so) but those ping spikes are just awful.īefore I go out and buy my own cable modem with telephony support (wife refuses to drop lan line) and my own ac router, is this normal, is my coax run probably at fault, or would getting my own equipment fix this? With those ping spikes it would be a pretty miserable local game streaming performer. The reason I tried a wireless test is because I plan on putting an nvidia shield in the room I did the wireless test. It averages about 14 ms, but periodically in seeing spikes in the 800’s and even over 1000 ms. #TELEPHONY MOCA CABLE MODEM PC#I also did a continuous ping to the pc hooked up via moca from a MacBook on the 5ghz band and I’m seeing some major ping spikes. I figured with 2.0 non bonded I should be reaching 500 mbit. I’m getting roughly 250 mbit and my ping times are averaging at about 5 ms. I dont see how you can have cable internet without a modem that has Ethernet ports and/or WiFi to connect your device (computer, TV, smart phone, etc) to the. I decided to tear the speed locally by running an iPerf 3 test on a local machine upstairs that is hooked up via Ethernet to the all in one router. ![]() My pc in the living room downstairs is hooked up through a moca 2.0 b adapter from Motorola and that goes into an 8 port gigabit switch that feeds my pc, Apple TV, game consoles. I’m not sure which version it is but I believe it’s 2.0 non bonded.
